epic

I wish to write an epic saga. Perhaps this will become the seed of my first novel. I started a story a little while back about a vampire hunter called Zero. Maybe I'll use that character in this story, I dunno. I'd like to do something in the tradition of the epic journey / unlikely hero stories. I jotted down some quick notes about my direction while at work today.

I'd like to start with one or two main characters and then develop a sort of a collection of characters as the story goes on. Their objective will to be to go somewhere, to stop something or to find something - haven't decided which, maybe both - and it will all probably take place in a world which I create. Toward the end, they will arrive at the gates of something awful and very nearly fail - maybe they will fail - to save the world or save their people or whatever it is I'll have them do. Anyways, this is all merely a skeletal structure. Now, I just need to find the time and energy (and not be distracted) so I can write this masterpiece.
